The history of GEMA GmbH began on December 12, 1991 as a regional wholesaler of heating and sanitary products.

The customers were mainly craftsmen, heating and plumbing installers.

However, the rapid and successful development in the field of alternative energies only began in 2006 with the online shop for heating and sanitary products, gemashop.
